West Coast Rodeo Band

Country

Band Description

West Coast Rodeo Band is an all-star lineup created by San Francisco producer Ed Ivey with several of the best C&W players in the Bay Area today. Ivey has teamed up with multi-instrumentalist Doug Adamz and a fine group of country pickers to form a band that can play everything from classic country hits to the latest, hottest line-dancing rhythms. This is a show that the whole family will love.

Guitarist and singer Ed Ivey first gained musical notoriety for his Texas rock band Rhythm Pigs in the Eighties, which toured all over the world and released five records, but Ivey's first love was always the country music of his early farm days. After moving to San Francisco in 1992, Ivey started producing albums and playing bass in many notable Bay Area projects. He currently plays with guitar ace Eric McFadden in Faraway Brothes and plays tuba in Brass Monkey Brass Band.

Singer and multi-instrumentalist Doug Adamz is from West Texas and is known throughout Northern California for his musical performances including country and western, bluegrass, Irish fiddle tunes and rockin' blues. Adamz has performed with Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Lee, Dottie West, Ricky Scaggs, Huey Lewis, The New Riders, Nick Gravenites, Joan Baez, Ramblin’Jack Elliot and others. He recently performed two overseas tours for U.S. troops, and was selected to entertain President Bush in 2008 during an official visit to Silicon Valley.

Bassist Bill Amatneek has played with Peter Paul & Mary, Jerry Garcia, Bill Monroe, Kate Wolf, and Light Rain. Not only is he a fine musician, Bill is a professional storyteller, holding crowds spellbound with his true tales of his music adventures at folk, bluegrass and storytelling festivals around the country. His book, Acoustic Stories, won the Bay Area Independent Publishers Association award for Best Music Book.

Drummer David Langdone has been playing professionally since he was in his teens, and is another well-traveled musician, having toured with scores of road bands and theater companies in his career. Like his bandmates, Langdon is red-hot on everything from jazz to classic rock, but country music is what he likes to do best.
